Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I’ve done a more personal post, and since today’s Friday, I thought there wouldn’t be a better time than to share some fun facts about me with you guys. And not just like “I am obsessed with Diet Coke and my dog” kind of facts (still both definitely true 😉), but ten completely random things that a lot of people don’t know.
December 15th. We are exactly three years apart (within an hour)!
Thankfully this does not carry into foods, but environmentally there are only two things I know of that I am not allergic to: palm trees and feathers. It’s so bad that when I moved into my dorm room as a college freshman, two weeks later I had to be ambulanced out for my allergic reaction to the mold in the old building. Talk about embarrassing!
This is so ironic because very first job was a swim instructor at the pool I had been on swim team at for the prior four years. But, I rarely actually even put on a swimsuit now! The only exception is Hawaii or a resort where I can read by the pool.
I genuinely like and listen to almost all genres of music, except emo/metal. Country, Justin Bieber, rap, I love it all! Funny story: when I was a sophomore in high school I went through a stage where I loved emo music (can’t believe I just admitted that to you!).
Everyone went through and picked from like twenty different toppings and a chef mixed them in and served it to you in a martini glass. It was definitely the biggest hit of the night! To this day if I run into someone who went to our wedding, they will bring it up. But like any bride, I don’t even remember having it 😉.
From things that really matter to those that totally don’t. We’re talking the food I cut has to all be the same size (have you seen this cutting board? I need it), my laundry has to be folded perfectly, and I throw things away before I will put something where it doesn’t belong. It’s bad and can get to the point that I drive myself insane…haha!
I left high school for college after my sophomore year, and so I never went to prom! A few years ago, I was a high school chemistry teacher and got to chaperone prom with Daniel, so technically that was my first prom.
Ever since I can remember I wanted to be a doctor, but when I actually got the the practical part of it in college I realized it definitely wasn’t for me. Because it was my life-long dream, I couldn’t just give it up and ended up adding the business degree and finishing it out. I’m pretty sure I will never go to medical school, but I can still say that earning that degree was the toughest thing I’ve done!
Our local Chipotle and Chick-Fil-A rely on me to pay their rent, and let’s just say that I am reliable. I have those two multiple times a week with a little Cheesecake Factory, Stone Oven (best salads), and In ‘n’ Out thrown in.
Most people dislike bathing suits, bras, or jeans, but my disdain is for shorts! I’m completely not exaggerating when I say that I’ve ordered 19 pairs of denim shorts over the past two weeks. I’m not sure why but I hate the way they fit and feel. And after ordering them all from prices ranging from $50 to $250, this pair of Levis is hands down my favorite! I scored getting these for under $100, and I practically live in them. You will too! Snag them here and wear them with me all summer long.
What’s something totally random about you? I would love to hear in the comments!

Hey Kelly! So glad to hear I’m not alone 😉 I think you will love them!! xo, Daryl-Ann
I hate shopping for shorts, too! I’ve ordered a couple and the only ones I’m semi happy with are from American Eagle. I’d love to try out these Levi ones. Thank you for the suggestion! Please share other shorts you love as you find them! <3
Hey Kayla! I have heard really good things about American Eagle, too! I think you would love these 😉 I’ll make sure to share any more I find and love! xo, Daryl-Ann
What a great post! I think it’s so cute how you and your husband share the same birth date! Double celebration!! My daughter will be having a mashed potato bar at her wedding next year and I’m so glad to hear it was a big success! Also, love the top btw!! 🙂
Hey Gina! We absolutely love it! How exciting for your daughter! Congratulations 🙂 The mashed potato bar will be extremely loved by all! Haha. So neat that she is having it. I hadn’t heard of it before and it was so much fun! Have a great rest of your week! xo, Daryl-Ann
