Every year I feel like school sneaks up and steals Summer away faster than any year before, and this year was no exception.  I mean, is it just me, or are they starting school earlier and earlier?!  A lot of people I know started back this week, but the majority start next week.

With a little sister in college and brother in high school, I think I still feel the effects of the school year more-so than other mid-twenties .  But I kind of like it because it comes with this fresh motivation and feeling of newness!  So, whether you’re off to a dorm room or just back to your office, these items are sure to fit the bill.

I still keep a planner like I did in college, and whether or not you are in school this planner is absolutely adorable and will carry you from now through 2017.  And can we just take a whole minute and a half for this backpack?!  I’m sorry, why was something this classy not available when I was in school?  Please take advantage of it if you are!  And if you’re on a tighter budget, you can get the same look for under $60 with this one in black.

A leopard pencil pouch was definitely something I didn’t know I needed until I saw it, and now it’s conveniently in my cart…oops!  Having a pouch for my pens and pencils in college was essential, but I’m not quite sure about now, considering I work at a desk 😉.  But if you’re a student, be sure to snag it and this ID holder.  At any university, I feel like you can’t even go to the bathroom without your ID (kidding, but really…), so having it handy all the time is a must!

For the fall, booties and flats are my two go-to shoes so I always look to refresh my wardrobe with a new pair of each around this time of year.  This year I think I am going to invest in these Tory Burch flats.  I can’t tell you how many times I have tried them on in the store [the leather is insanely ridiculous soft], and I think with Fall on the way that it’s time to bite the bullet!

A utility jacket will easily be your most-worn item of the season if you own one, and this one is an absolute steal!  Paired with just a tee, jeans, and booties, it makes the cutest outfit.

Lastly, keeping a mini Triple Sec texturizing spray in my bag is a must for tiny refreshes throughout the day, and walking from class to class, you will be glad you have it with you!  And I couldn’t get myself to wear lipstick to class back in the day, so these Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Balms will be a lifesaver.  They give you a tiny bit of sheer color and are incredible moisturizers, but don’t make you look “overdone” for class.  My top two favorites are ‘Rose‘ and ‘Petal‘.
