If you’ve been following along on Instagram for just about any time at all by now, I’m sure you have clued into the fact that I am obsessed with Disneyland! Living less than an hour and a half away from the parks makes them all too accessible on a Friday afternoon for a quick stop. Daniel and I have been visiting them quite a bit recently, and I have gotten quite a few questions about what I can and cannot do in the parks while pregnant. So, today I thought I would share my tips on what to do at Disneyland when you’re pregnant!
Being pregnant definitely doesn’t disqualify you from taking part in all the great things the Happiest Place on Earth has to offer! Daniel and I still have the best time at the parks when we go, and we went three times during my first and second trimesters. Just a disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and every pregnancy and individual is different, so make sure you check with your doctor before you head to the parks! This is just what works for me.
Obviously the aspect of the parks to take the most caution with when you are pregnant are the rides. In a quick summary, I got the go ahead from my doctor to ride any ride with the exception of “the mountain rides, Guardians of the Galaxy (previously Tower of Terror), Indiana Jones, Autopia, and any roller coaster. Other than that, he said I should be good to go! There are tons of other rides you can enjoy while you are pregnant at Disneyland or California Adventure! Here are some favorites that my doctor gave the OK to:
Rides are only a small part of why I love Disneyland so much, and really the only restricted thing white pregnant! Other than the rides, be sure to take advantage of these:
Disney puts on some of the best shows and parades in the world! You can still take full advantage of these during every stage of pregnancy, and it will give you an opportunity to rest your feet 😉. Here are some of my personal favorites:
Speaking of snacks, one of my favorite parts of Disneyland (pregnant or not) is the food! Since I have been pregnant, we have really enjoyed going and treating ourselves though…haha! These are some of my favorite quick things to grab while we are walking around.
The bottom line is, going to Disneyland while you’re pregnant is still so much fun and definitely something you shouldn’t avoid! Get proper hydration, rest when you need to, and take advantage of all the exercise you’ll get walking thorough the parks all day (just wear comfortable shoes!).
