While I have to say that I just love ANY excuse to wear gorgeous sequin and lace dresses and holiday parties are usually a great one (see my favorites here!), there are times you need something a bit more conservative…like a work party! An outfit like this is the perfect combination of dressed up and pretty, while still being wearable and conservative. The mini skirt paired with tights will keep you warm and make you feel comfortable in any environment, with any group of people. The blanket scarf adds the “festive” Christmas look.
The skirt/tights/tee/blanket scarf combo can easily be mixed and matched with items you already have in your closet! But I think adding a sequin skirt like this one [told you I can’t get enough!] would be the perfect compromise. Unfortunately, I bought this skirt on sale at my Banana Republic, so it isn’t available online anymore, but I linked a similar one here! And I have to add that if you are in the market for a new pair of black tights, these are my absolute favorites!!! I can’t say enough good things about them! They have a “control top,” which basically just means it holds everything in all nice and tight ;). And, they are the perfect opaque, without looking like leggings.
