I’m not going to lie: creating outfits around my new bump has been a bit challenging. With this being my first pregnancy, I have no idea what to expect in regards to pretty much everything…including how my body would change! I’ve quickly found that I can’t wear some of my favorite styles (goodbye for now front tuck!), and have had to switch to things that I would seldom wear pre-pregnancy. Enter my new best friend: dresses. So today, I wanted to share a maternity date night outfit that I wore to dinner with Daniel last weekend. And the best part is that any of these pieces will work whether you are expecting or not!
Finding pieces that you feel comfortable and cute in while pregnant is definitely not impossible! I am typically the girl that avoids all form-fitting pieces like the plague. Not due to self confidence issues, but just because I prefer the oversized look! However, I’ve found that with pregnancy, form-fitting styles tend to be a lot more flattering! I have been buying and wearing body-con dresses like this one non stop because of how easy they are to style and how comfortable and cute they make me feel. This one is adorable with the buttons, and they make an identical version that is not maternity HERE!
I like to layer my dresses with a jacket or cardigan, and so for date night I wore this super cute long beige duster cardigan overtop. Neutrals are my go-to and I love how the brown, beige, and black all came together in this outfit! To dress this look up, I opted for these neutral heels (my favorites!).
