I swear it feels like all my friends are getting married or having babies right now. I’m sure you’re sitting there thinking, “Gosh, same here!” because every single girl I talk to my age feels the same, and all the older women tell me, “It’s the stage of life you’re in!” Anyways, having dresses in your closet that can work for multiple events proves to be challenging to say the least. While I’m online shopping or at the mall, I find myself always making a quick run through the dresses section just to see what new cute styles came in because you can guarantee I’ll have an invitation of where to wear it to within a week.
When I saw this French Connection dress, I was shopping with my mom and didn’t hesitate to pull it right into the dressing room with me. There were several things about it that drew my attention to it: a) It isn’t white, b) Even though it’s a dark color, it looks Spring/Summer-y, and c) It isn’t sleeveless. First off, I hesitate to spend any good chunk of money on a dress that’s white. [This was most definitely not the case while I was engaged…#mywholeclosetwaswhite]. But now I need dresses that are versatile, and while I love a gorgeous white dress as much as the next girl, I can’t wear it to any weddings, so I keep a budget on those under $150 [usually ;)]. The fact that it has sleeves instantly caught my attention. Sleeveless dresses are super easy to come by this time of year, but I am a huge lover of dresses with sleeves, especially 3/4 sleeves like this one! And the fact that it is a navy color makes it different than the lighter shades everyone else is wearing, but the chiffon material and embroidery keep it very Spring & Summer appropriate. It was definitely something that I easily invested in because of how much use I can see myself getting out of it for years to come!
Hope you are all having an amazing week! Thank you so much for stopping by! It means the world to me! xoxo
Love this dress, Daryl-Ann! I just bought a similar one from Cupshe.
