Next week my favorite sale of the year begins, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! I anticipate and shop this sale every single July, and from what I’ve seen in this year’s catalog, this year will not disappoint. I can’t wait to see everything that’s included when it goes live, but for now here is your ultimate guide for all things Anniversary Sale.
What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is unlike any other typical sale or clearance because for a limited time, brand-new Fall and Summer styles are offered at seriously discounted prices. New designer and brand name pieces are created and marked down for only a few weeks during the sale period, and then prices go back up for the rest of the season!
When is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
Technically the Anniversary Sale is from July 21-August 6, however Nordstrom cardholders can shop the Sale early starting on July 13. In order to shop during the Early Access period, you must have a Nordstrom Credit or Debit card. The cards have no annual fees, and the debit card links straight to your bank account (and works just like your bank debit card does). And until July 9, you can get a $20 Nordstrom note when you apply to shop the sale with, that works just like a gift card. You can apply for the card HERE.
If you don’t want to sign up for the card, you can still get a $10 Nordstrom note to shop the sale with when Public Access begins on July 21 by signing up for their rewards program HERE.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 Key Dates:
- July 13, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. PST: Early Access Begins
- July 21, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. PST: Public Access Opens
- August 6, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. PST: Sale Closes
What to buy during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
Because all the merchandise included in the sale is brand new, there will be a lot of items for the upcoming Fall season. It can be tough to shop for boots and fur vests during the heat of Summer, but your wallet will thank you come September/October when everything is full price. I also love to shop for closet basics like designer jeans, Nikes, and designer bags like Tory Burch that rarely go on sale. Be sure to check back on the first day of Early Access, July 13, because I will be rounding up all of my favorite picks. How to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:
My favorite way to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is online, and once it is live you will be able to shop everything HERE. Not only will the stores be super crowded during the sale because of it’s highly dedicated following, but each store can only carry a limited product offering compared to the thousands of items that are marked down. Online you can can shop all the items, and shipping both ways is free. They will send you a prepaid label to return anything that doesn’t fit or that you end up not liking. My favorite way to shop is to place my order online and then use the curbside pick-up the same day at my closest store. So convenient!
My number one piece of advice would be to shop early because so many things sell out the first day. Some items luckily do get restocked as the sale goes on, but sadly many of the best ones don’t. If you really love a piece but are unsure about sizing, buy both and return whichever one doesn’t work. Nothing is worse than falling in love with something and then not being able to get it in your size!
