Happy Monday! Hope you all had a super fun weekend! Daniel and I hung out with friends and family most of the weekend, and shopped the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a bit for things for him yesterday.
As promised, today I’m sharing my dressing room diaries of some of my #NSale shopping experience. First off, let me apologize for the horrible quality iPhone photos (#iPhone7comequick). But regardless, I still really wanted to share with you some of the items that I tried on on my first trip to the Anniversary Sale, as well as fit, quality, etc.
The sale is currently open for cardholders only, but on Friday it opens to everyone! [You can see all my favorite sale picks in this post!] And if you don’t have a card, you can still browse everything HERE and pick out your favorites so that when it opens you will be ready! This year has got to be my favorite year of the sale yet, and I love how many items they have that can be worn now and later!
In each of the photos below, I’ll let you know what the item is, what size I’m wearing (and if I ordered a different size), as well as any other info I think you may want to know. Let me know if you have any questions or if I miss anything in the comments or over on Instagram (@darylanndenner), and I will be sure to answer and let you know!
I absolutely loved this dress! It seriously is the perfect basic and can be worn totally casual like I did here with flip flops, or dressed up a bit. I think it will look so cute paired with a utility jacket (this one is on sale!) and these cute booties (also on sale). It’s a drapey silhouette and is fully lined with a little slip that is a separate piece (I’m not a huge fan of when they attach them). The dress hits right above my knee (I’m 5’1″ for reference). I also ordered it in the ‘Navy Night Fable’ color.
This long sleeve tee is probably one of my favorite items I bought on the sale so far, and it’s only $17.90! On me it’s long enough to wear with leggings or jeans (you can see from the side pic that it’s even longer in the back). The material is super thin and light, but not sheer. I loved it paired with this plaid blanket scarf which is also under $20.
These jeans are another awesome score form the sale–only $38! They are tight all the way to the ankle which is something I always am really picky about, and have just the right amount of stretch. They run a whole size large, which I am not complaining about in the slightest 😉, just be aware when ordering!
Loved this tunic sweater! I could totally pair this one with leggings or jeans also, but if you are over 5’4″ you might not be able to get away with leggings. The material is a bit warmer and heavier than the other sweaters that I tried, so it will be perfect for the fall and winter. I love the burgundy and charcoal combo also!
It’s no surprise that I liked this Lush V-Neck top because they come out with a new version of it every year, and I always manage to pick it up in at least two colors [it comes in 10!]. One thing I loved about this year’s more than last are that the “V” is not as low cut so a tank top underneath is not essential. Also, it is significantly shorter (last year’s was more of a tunic), which I like because I don’t always want something that long. This could easily be tucked into shorts and worn now!
This hooded cardigan was something I did not like. For me it was just too much fabric and not oversized in a good way, but I could see it looking cute on possibly someone taller. It is more of a heavier, wool fabric, so if you are looking for something warmer, you may want to try it out. It does run large, so if you’re between sizes make sure you size down.
This tee was way too cute to pass up! I love a good graphic tee to wear on the weekends, which is just what I did with this one yesterday 😉. Heads up: I sized up in this for an even baggier look.
These jeans are the same cut I always wear and have in 4 different washes, and I was so excited when I saw them as a part of the sale. They run true to size, and trust me and just try them. Everyone I have convinced has loved them, and you will definitely not regret it!
I ended up buying this sleeveless sweater in the black color because of the olive jacket I bought (below), but how cute would this color look underneath a leather jacket? On me it hits mid-thigh, so it’s plenty long and is a soft, mid-weight knit. Can’t wait to wear this one!
If you are a Madewell fan, this shirt will totally be right up your alley. It’s the same great quality you can always expect from Madewell, and is a bit of a heavier flannel without being stiff. It does run very large (if I did order it, I would order the XXS) and is long, so it can be paired with leggings. It wasn’t my favorite thing I tried on, so I passed it up, but my mom did end up ordering it!
First off, if you don’t have a black leather jacket, the sale is the time to snag one. This one is a great inexpensive option for under $65, but if you’re looking to make an investment in one you’ll have for years, this one is absolutely gorgeous in person!! And why not make the investment while it’s on sale a bit?!
This olive faux leather jacket was super unique and fun! I love the cozy, drapey knit along the front. It totally mixes a cozy, soft sweater feel with the edgy-ness of a leather jacket. It will make the simplest of outfits look super cute, like over my favorite $30 tank and jeans!
This top totally is a Free People look-alike, but is only $30. It runs a size small, and I didn’t care for it with the buttons buttoned all the way up, but liked it way better like this. The fabric is super lightweight (again, think Free People), and you could easily pair this with denim shorts!
This dress is under $25! It’s totally one of those “wear now and later” items available at the sale. The fabric is super lightweight and it comes in 10 colors! It runs true to size and hits right above my knee (I am 5’1″ for reference).
Hope this helped you out some and you enjoyed “shopping” with me! Some of the items I tried on I had to leave out because they are already sold out, so make sure if you like something you snag it quick!
Have a great Monday! Thanks so much for stopping by! xoxo
