I know it’s super cliché to say, but every year seems to go quicker and quicker. How in the world am I already twenty-seven today?! To celebrate, I thought I would share 27 random facts about me that lots of people don’t know, so that you can get to know me a little bit better! And make sure you leave a comment with a random fact about yourself below, so that I can get to know YOU!
I share a birthday with Daniel – cute right? He turns THIRTY today!!
Speaking of, he and I met on a cruise when I was 15.
I want four kids one day.
Daniel and I both went to Biola University. My degree is in pre-med and business.
I graduated from college Summa Cum Laude. Nerd Life!
My dog, Ryleigh, weighed 1 pound 6 ounces when we got her 5 years ago. My mom has her sister from the same litter!
Whenever I find a lost dog, I have to rescue it and reunite it with it’s owners. We’re currently at six and counting…
I’m addicted to Diet Coke. Like, I can tell you what fast food restaurant it came from, addicted.
BUT it is possible for me to go without it! I was 3 weeks sober this year! (Not by choice, I had my tonsils removed–but still!)
Vegetables are my least favorite food, but I do love potatoes and corn! Do those count?!
I haven’t seen that many classic or popular movies. Wizard of Oz, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc.
Daniel and I have a small closet, that we share. Shocking, I know.
During college, I was a management intern at Nordstrom in the women’s shoe department. Life comes full circle, people.
I am a huge perfectionist. My “good enough” is not a normal “good enough”…I promise. For example, when Mattea says something is “good enough,” Daniel always responds by asking if it’s a “Daryl-Ann good enough.”
I won’t try ranch on my pizza – I don’t want to start another food addiction! (Diet Coke is enough)
I was homeschooled during middle school.
Daniel and I went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to go back one day!
Bananas are absolutely disgusting to me…the taste, the smell, the texture…gross. And I’m allergic to pineapple.
Peach Bellini Sugarfina candies are the best candy. Period. Daniel and I shamelessly buy them buy the pound.
I get my nails done religiously every two weeks, but I rarely change the color. OPI “Let’s Be Friends!” is my go-to! (but you can find all my favorites HERE)
When I’m feeling “healthy” I order grilled nuggets instead of regular nuggets from Chick-Fil-A
I have neverhad short hair. But I’ve debated it quite a few times….one of those times being right now!
My secret dream job has always been to run a cash register. They seriously look like so much fun! Growing up, I would always play with fake ones. One day 😉.
My first car was a red Mini Cooper.
I’m allergic to just about everything. No lie, when we went to college I was allergic to the dorm building, and had to move after being taken out in an ambulance! Talk about embarrassing. Plants, animals, you name it, I’m allergic.
When I was in fourth grade, I was Santa in our school Christmas play…and I sang a solo! You guys, I cannot sing!
I absolutely LOVE having my birthday so close to Christmas! My mom always made it so special and distinguished growing up, so I never had the downfalls of it. (We’re talking down to the wrapping paper, people. She would only use birthday wrapping paper). But who wouldn’t want another reason to celebrate when it’s decorated and festive everywhere?! It’s so fun!
My sweet family (and Mattea!) helped me come up with these, and so I thought I would throw in a few funny extras they said:
I’m impossible to buy gifts for (my sister, Katie)
I used to play softball…ha what a joke!
I have the greatest mom ever (from my mom…but so true!)
I say out more than I cook (my sister, Danielle)
I love Kaylee! (from my sister, Kaylee)
My favorite noise is the noise the chip reader makes at stores when you’re prompted to remove your credit card. (from Mattea)
Daryl-Ann talks like the Kardashians the way she pronounces her “r’s.” (from Mattea…definitely embarrassed by this)
I am beyond grateful for the beautiful life the Lord has blessed me with these last 26 years. And if there is one thing I’m thankful for on my birthday, it’s all of you! It is such a gift that you would read and follow along. This past year has been a whirlwind and such an adventure, and I’m totally looking forward to this next year. I’m excited for new projects and collaborations, new followers (aka soon to be friends), and new ideas. When I birthed Something Beautiful two years ago, I couldn’t have even imagined that we would be where we are today. I mean look, I had to hire my assistant, Mattea, to help with everything, who by the way is awesome, funny, and so smart (she convinced me to put this in here). We can’t wait for what’s coming to the blog in 2018! Thank you again for making this last year so so amazing, but I’m ready for this 27th year of my life. Thank you times a million from the bottom of my heart…you all are amazing!! xx, Daryl-Ann
Happy birthday, girl! We don’t know each other, but I love your feed! I secretly (I guess not-so-secretly anymore) like to watch people eat. 🤷🏽♀️As long as their mouth is closed., haha. Thanks for sharing!
Happy belated Birthday! I have totally been obsessed with cash registers since I was a little girl too! I’m glad I’m not the only one with this quirk 😜
Happy Birthday! This was such a fun read, I was pre-med too, I actually work in healthcare.

Happy Birthday to you and Nick Jonas! Lol… jk! Your blog has to be my absolute favorite! I also get my nails religiously done every two weeks.
