January 26, 2017
It’s hard to believe that January is already over and we are on to Valentine’s Day celebrations here in the next couple of weeks! Valentine’s Day has always been one of my favorite holidays because my mom’s favorite thing is to make people feel loved. She always does a huge dinner for our whole family with gifts for each person on their chair. I still love it so much that Daniel and I spend every Valentine’s Day at her house rather than going on a date 😉
Her love language of gifts has very much passed on to me, and any excuse I have to give a gift is a good one to me! And while Valentine’s Day isn’t Christmas, there are tons of cute options to get your bestie to show her how much you love her or your boyfriend/husband to show him just how much you appreciate him that won’t break the bank. So today I’ve rounded up a bunch of ideas to do just that, and they’re ALL under $100!
Valentine’s Day can be just as fun or more fun spent with your girlfriends as it can be spent with a significant other. So plan something fun to do with your besties that night, even if it’s just watching the latest episode of the bachelor with tons of popcorn, candy, and drinks!
If you want to bring something fun along, most of these ideas are under $50! These cute wine glasses and champagne flutes would be so fun to serve drinks in at a girl’s night in and are under $15! And these Sugar Lips candies are not only so cute and festive, but are delicious too! They would make the cutest little treats to give to each of your friends. This print is only $5 and you could print one for her and one for yourself 😉
And if you want to wear something festive that day this pink “x” front top would be gorgeous on the 14th and after, especially if you’re headed out somewhere fun that night! And I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything cuter than these pink Nikes. They would be perfect paired with this Wildfox conversation heart cozy sweater for a night of lounging. And if you don’t have a pair of these earrings yet, I love them in the hot pink to wear through all of Spring and Summer!
Everyone’s different when it comes to Valentine’s day. I think it’s split about 50/50 from my experience between those who love it and celebrate to those who feel that your love isn’t something that should be celebrated one day of the year. And while I definitely agree with that statement, my opinion is that if I can take extra time to show Daniel I love and appreciate him (even if it’s on a day as “cheesy” as Valentine’s Day), I am going to do it!
So I like to get him a little something special and a both a heartfelt and funny card (because that man’s love language is “words of affirmation” all day…haha!). I literally created this board our of his favorite things, so I hope it helps inspire you to find something your man will love and show him how much you love him!
First up is this backup battery phone case. I picked the red because it was festive, but it also comes in solid back. I got Daniel this for his birthday last month and when he opened it he had a confused look on his face like, “Why do I need this?” Ha! But I’m not even joking when I say it is now his favorite gift he got and he talks about how much he loves it all the time! I also got him this Bellroy wallet that is super classy and simple looking, but it has all kinds of compartments and features that help it stay slim while holding quite a bit of stuff.
A watch is always a safe bet with almost every guy I know, and this one is super unique and looks so much more expensive than it is. And Patagonia pullovers are so in right now, that he’s guaranteed to love it! If he’s more of a practical guy, this tie box comes with three ties, three coordinating pocket squares, and two pairs of socks for under $100! It also comes in a black/gray version HERE. And if you want to give him something a bit more fun, this record player is such a conversation piece but it also converts vinyls into digital files! (It also comes in black, but is $10 more).
What are your favorite ways to celebrate Valentine’s? Do you have any long standing traditions or are you trying out something new this year? Let me know in the comments!
