Workout Gear Must-Haves

Call me cliché, but each January I find myself excited about setting new goals for the year.  I know the majority of you are in the same boat as I am, working towards a better version of whatever you had last year. It might be work-related or maybe relationship related, maybe a personal or religious goal.  But if you’re like me, you might just want to put on your pre-baby jeans again 😂.  Honestly, I am giving my body grace right now after the little miracle it just achieved. I am so blessed to have been able to carry my little guy these last 9 months and I stayed active throughout most of my pregnancy- you can check out my pregnancy workout routine HERE! This new-mom life is no joke though, and I can definitely use a little motivation to get back into my active routine. For me, nothing says “book that SoulCycle class!” like a new workout outfit!  New workout clothes always making getting into the gym just a little bit easier.  Whether it’s new shoes or tights, or even a new gym bag, here are some of my workout gear must-haves!

Clothes

I’ve always felt most comfortable in long or short sleeves when working out so this loose-fitting long sleeve top from Alo is so perfect.  It has a super flattering side-split hem and the color is so cute.  This one is a great short sleeve option with that same relaxed fit and would look great with these leggings.  I think leggings or tights are a little bit more specific to whatever workout you’re doing.  For yoga, a pair like these that has a more textured fabric like cotton or polyester will help to keep your poses from slipping.  If you’re running or doing higher intensity work, sweat wicking tights with some compression like these would be perfect. When it comes to sports bras, I like to keep things pretty simple and these from Nike have always been my favorite.

Since it is January, mornings getting to the gym have been pretty chilly so a super warm Patagonia Jacket is a great option and would even look cute at brunch after.  The Adidas Ultraboosts shoes have been my favorite for over a year now, but I wanted to try these out because the responsive sole looks really comfortable and I love the color.  These sneakers are another perfect option for the gym.  They come in tons of colors and have a flat sole which makes them really versatile for weight lifting or HIIT workouts.

Accessories and Tech

When it comes to accessories, I don’t really have ton that I personally use in the gym.  But a water bottle is 100% a must-have!  I like the Traveler Bottle from Swell because it’s so much easier to put ice in them.  Hair ties- good ones, are something you don’t realize you need until you really need one! I love the coil-style ones because they grip your hair securely without leaving marks or creases.   A workout bag is great to keep a fresh pair of clothes or change of shoes in.  I am loving backpacks like this to keep my hands free with the baby.

I personally haven’t yet jumped on the FitBit bandwagon, but I know so many people who love theirs!  This one pink one is so cute and has a wrist-based heart rate monitor so you can get an idea of where you are during your workouts which I think is so awesome.  One piece of tech I have been looking into getting are wireless headphones like these Bose SoundSport ones specifically meant for working out (and under $120!).

I hope these ideas help give you some extra motivation to set new goals and chase after them in 2019!  Have you already set your goals and started after them?  Let me know in the comments!  And you can check out more of my workout gear must-haves below!
