Some of my favorite go-to outfits are created by mixing and matching classic neutral pieces I have had in my closet for a long time.  And that definitely includes mixing black and brown!  I’m not too sure when or how that color combo got such a bad reputation, but it is easily one of my favorites to wear (see more here and here).

We’ve still been having cooler days (and so much rain!), so I paired my favorite basic sweater (seriously buy this in multiple colors because it’s the best layering piece) underneath a simple black coat.  This coat is super pretty and the perfect weight, and it’s under $30!!  Definitely a huge bargain for those of us living in California where it truly isn’t worth investing in nice coats that you may wear a couple times a year…haha!
