With the first day of Summer being yesterday [which we definitely couldn’t have missed since it was 104ยบ!], Daniel and I got to thinking about different things we want to do. It’s so easy to get into a routine now that we aren’t in college and don’t necessarily get a “summer break,” so we thought that making a Summer Bucket List would help break up the monotony of weekdays and still give us something to look forward to.
We wanted them to be pretty simple [aside from #10 ๐], but things out of the ordinary that unless we planned for them, they just wouldn’t get done. Having things to look forward to is something I love and totally keeps me going!
Summer Bucket List
1. Go on a dinner date in Santa Monica on a Monday
2. Put string lights in our backyard
3. Host friends for dinner & a game night
4. Have a phone-free day
5. Bring dinner to the beach and watch the sunset on a blanket
6. Make homemade pizzas
7. Go to a weeknight Dodger game
8. Make S’mores
9. Try out a food truck
10. Remodel our kitchen
And my “unofficial #11” is to wear as much off-the-shoulder as I possibly can. But really, who is not obsessed with this trend?! Shirts, dresses, whatever…I want it all! Perfect for keeping cool in the warm weather we’ve been having, and still so cute at the same time.
This Madewell chambray dress is my favorite summer purchase so far. I love that it doesn’t constantly slide up your shoulders if you move your arms, and the fabric is like a lightweight linen which keeps you totally cool, but that doesn’t wrinkle like crazy. Win, win. I think it’s technically a pool cover-up, and would totally be cute as that, but I love it as an everyday dress paired with Converse!
