December 10, 2020
Hi friends! Last year, we had the unique opportunity this year to come together and help families in need, and I am SO excited to be doing it again! Below I’ve included some stories of families that need extra help this year, and by banding together, I know we can make a HUGE impact. Together, we have the opportunity to create a massive amount of change for each of them.
Each of these wishlists was created by the families in need, and some of the items on these lists are less than $10. Anything you purchase will be shipped directly to the family in need, and you can even include a personal note to encourage them! Once an item has been purchased, it disappears from the the wishlist. Let’s fulfill these, and add more!
Anything you can donate will make a difference in their lives. Let’s band together and give these families an amazing Christmas! And above all, please PRAY for these families. Pray that the Lord would touch them in a real and tangible way this Christmas, and they would feel His love through our giving!
Let’s do this, friends! I am so grateful you would do this with me!!! xoxo, Daryl-Ann
I wanted to nominate the Zolk Family from Palos Heights, IL.
I don’t know of any family more deserving or more in need of some Christmas Joy in the whole world. The Zolk family currently has 4 kids under the age of 10 and 1 on the way! They have a beautiful and strong little girl named Max who had a heart transplant at a young age.
Currently Max is battling rejection and constantly in and out of the hospital. It has been hard on the family taking care of all of their little ones and trying to work, especially with health safety as a concern during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I’m nominating my best friend, Morgan Hall. She got pregnant with her son Carson., who then passed away as an infant. I believe due to breathing issues. I tried not to press super hard about what his exact condition was as that is a very hard conversation. As a mom myself I couldn’t imagine dealing with infant loss.
She has since had 2 miscarriages. This woman has grieved her 3 angels in heaven and is still compassionate, loving, caring, giving, and literally the most amazing person I’ve ever met. She’s stronger than anyone I know.
Fast even further to a little over a week ago, Morgan FaceTimes me and shows me a positive pregnancy test. We freak out with excitement, but Morgan is telling me how scared she is to be excited.
This woman deserves a baby so much… On top of ALL of this Morgan took in her younger brother who is about to turn 16. So not only is she pregnant, which she’s dreamed of for so long, but she is also jumping into the teenage part of motherhood.
I am so lucky to know Morgan, her story, and get to be a part of her life. With this wishlist she could put together a nursery and give her brother an awesome Christmas.
I wanted to nominate my friends Josh, Shemary and Ely Jones.
About 3 years ago Josh found out he had stage 4 Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma cancer. He and Shem had just gotten married a month before, and found out (the same day he heard about his cancer) that they were pregnant. It was a bittersweet day to say the least.
Josh fought HARD for two years. He wanted to be there to raise Ely. Until he passed away last year, leaving Shem and Ely.
Josh was a guy that would give everything he had to help out anyone in need. He was always there no matter what you needed. He was always talking about God to anyone who would listen. He was a friend to all who needed a friend.
Through it all, this sweet family has been a light to so many. Continually praising and thanking God, even after getting bad news after bad news. They thanked God until Josh’s last breath.
Hi Denner Family!
I wanted to reach out and nominate my cousin and her family. Michelle and Chris Sullivan.
They have 3 children: Christian, McKenzie and Chloe.
In October, their youngest was diagnosed with cancer…she’s 14 months old.
Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Ever since Chloe was rushed to the ER on Oct 5th, she has lived in the hospital. With her lungs at low capacity & kidney function failing, she had to stay in the PICU for a while, even being incubated for periods of time. It’s heartbreaking.
This whole thing has been such a roller coaster. One day they’ll hear great news on her numbers and the next 3 days she’ll be fighting a fever of 103 with racing heart rates. She was also diagnosed with the measles and a staph infection. Chris and Michelle couldn’t leave a pressurized isolation room with Chloe for 5 days straight. She also has to endure harsh chemo treatments and her little body struggles to handle it. Chris and Michelle have been living at the Stanford hospital staying by Chloe’s side 24/7, all while having to be away from their other 2 children who are hours away. Her cancer is aggressive & she needs a bone marrow transplant. There isn’t even talk of her getting to leave the hospital until March or April of next year.
On top of everything going on.. Michelle was in her third trimester of pregnancy when they found out Chloe had cancer.. YEP. Just days ago Chris & Michelle welcomed a new baby boy into the family! Colton Peter Sullivan! This baby is such a blessing but having a new baby is stressful even under normal circumstances. Now they are hours from home, couldn’t have a normal baby shower due to COVID and hardly have anything they need for the new baby.
They have a lot of family who love and care for them but I also know they are struggling.. they aren’t working right now so they can be with their 2 littlest ones. They’ve been able to raise some money but it doesn’t even come close to the bills they are receiving for Chloe’s care. Spending the holidays in the hospital with your child fighting cancer isn’t something I’d wish for anyone.
