Easy Weekend Dress

I’ve got to be honest and say that this flannel tied around my waist is about as “edgy” as my style gets. But this past weekend I felt like dressing this dress “down” a bit, and adding a plaid to break things up did the trick! Sometimes solid dresses that don’t really have much shape look really boring without something like this! And plaids definitely aren’t just a fall trend; you can totally pair them with some cutoff shorts and booties in the summer! [These are my favorite shorts!] It was the perfect weekend outfit, and though I felt a tiny bit out of my comfort zone when I wore it, I feel like I may be coming back to it again.
We are in Newport Beach for the weekend on a little getaway with my family! I imagine we will be doing plenty of shopping, eating, and lounging by the pool, and I couldn’t be more excited for it!
