Favorite Nail Polish Colors

Daryl-Ann Denner shares her favorite opi essie and nail polish colors

I am so excited to share this post with you guys today!  I have been getting so many questions lately about what shades are on my nails/toes, and so I thought it would be best to round-up my go-to nail colors for you to reference next time you are at the salon or roaming the aisles of Target 😉.  I’m a neutral lover, so most of these are light neutrals but there are a few fun and different ones I like to throw in every once in a while!

OPI “Let’s Be Friends!”

This is hands down my favorite nail polish color, and what I most likely have on my hands 95% of the time.  My nail lady (shout out to Yvonne!) doesn’t even typically ask me what color because I almost always end up with this one.  It is the perfect shade of pink/white that looks good on every skin tone.  My cousin had a hard time finding a light pink that she felt didn’t look funny against her skin color, and loves this one too!

OPI “Alpine Snow”

Being the picky person I am, I have a favorite white…and this is it.  There’s something about it that I feel keeps it from yellowing and makes it the perfect, true white.  No gray, no yellow.

OPI “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around”

When I want more of a nude than a pink, I reach for this shade.  It does have a bit of a mauve tint to it, which I feel looks better on my fair skin than just a straight nude.  Grays tend to look funny on me, but this gives you that “gray” look without being so modern and I feel is just a touch classier.

OPI “Lincoln Park After Dark”

It’s a rare thing to find me with dark nail polish, but if I do feel like a big change I always go with this shade.  It is a bit less harsh than black, but almost that dark don’t let the online image fool you, it’s really dark).  In my opinion, the best way to describe it would be a very deep, dark plum.  This is also one of my favorites for my toenails!

Essie “Saltwater Happy”

This Summer was the first time I ventured out into blue hues, and I randomly picked this shade for my toes in the salon one day.  I have almost gotten it every time since because it is so fun and happy!  It’s not your typical baby blue, and is just subdued enough to fit into my neutral obsession.  You have to try this one!

CND “Cake Pop” & OPI “Mod About You”

These two are so similar to me, and I have loved them both for a long time.  They are very similar to OPI “Let’s be friends!” only a little more pink and a little less white.  I wanted to share both in case your salon carries one brand and not the other.  They’re really almost identical and the most fun shade of light pink!

What are your go-to nail colors?  Do you like to venture out into bright shades or are you more of a neutrals girl like me?

I love neutrals on my nails, but they always seem to chip or disappear because of swimming. Luckily I have you and Katie to live vicariously through!

But when I do my nails, I typically do them in Essie’s Ladylike, Chinchilly, or Topless and Barefoot. I love whites too, and I alternate between Optic and Marshmallow from Essie. Both go well on my nails and toes, especially when I’m tan!

Since it’s winter in Australia (and I’m not swimming so the polish stays on!) I’ve been keeping everything pretty neutral, but on the darker side. But now that I’m off on holiday to Hawaii before heading back to California, I chose OPI’s Cajun Shrimp for my toes. It’s such a perfect color for a tropical holiday!
