Favorite Neutral Lip Combos

If you’re new around here, the one thing you should know right off that bat is that I’m a “classics” kinda girl.  I’m a neutrals lover through and through, stick with simplistic jewelry that I wear daily (for the most part 😉), and a pair of jeans is my favorite staple.  This love for neutrals and classic flows right into my makeup routine and causes me to purchase pretty much any eyeshadow palette that contains the word “neutral.”  As far as lipsticks go, I never wore them up until about 4 years ago because I always felt like a clown in them.  The truth was that I hadn’t found a good color combination for my skin tone and was wearing colors that wear too much of a statement for my taste.  Over the past four years, I have come up with four neutral lip combos that I rotate between daily for every single occasion.  Whether it’s a night out or just a normal weekday, you can find me in one of these combinations.

Five out of seven days a week, it’s this combo I’m wearing.  I love all of these pretty much equally as far as colors go, but this combo stays on so well!  The liquid lipstick formula wears super nicely and doesn’t dry out my lips at all.  It is the perfect neutral color and it matches with the lip liner almost exactly!  If you are in need of a long-wearing, everyday combo this is it!

I had to include a drugstore combo for you guys, and to be honest it’s just as good as any of the more expensive options!  This liquid lipstick has been a staple of mine for a while now and has the prettiest burnt rose color to it.  It isn’t as long-wearing as the one above, but definitely a pretty shade!  A little less brown, and a little more rose.  It matches perfectly with this lipliner that is only $4!!!

Again with the MAC ‘Whirl’ lip pencil because it is just that good.  Honestly if you are looking to invest in a neutral lipliner, grab this one!  I could easily pair it with any of these lipsticks that I am sharing and if I only want to pack one on a trip, this is it!  I paired it here with MAC’s Velvet Teddy which is a classic matte lipstick that isn’t long wearing but has the nicest satin texture.  If you have a problem with liquid lipsticks being too dry, definitely check this one out!  It is the perfectly pigmented nude color.

This fourth neutral lip combo is a little different because the lipliner doesn’t match the lipstick and creates the prettiest definition.  This lipliner has a warmer rose tone, and I love it!  I paired it here with Anastasia’s liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Pure Hollywood’ that I have owned for years.  I love wearing these two together because this liquid lipstick can totally wash me out on it’s own, but adding the definition of the darker liner makes it the prettiest nude!!!

What are your go-to neutral lip combos?!
