When it comes to creatures of habit, I am the absolute queen. Whether it’s restaurants, stores, or the type of turkey I buy at the grocery store, I will always choose the same thing every time. It’s probably why 90% of my shopping is done at Nordstrom. Hey, when you find something you like why stray from it…right?
But I have to admit, there have been a few stores lately that have pleasantly surprised me and broken me out of my comfort zone. Abercrombie was definitely one of those stores [I wrote about it in this post] and they have completely changed from my middle school pastel polo days (thank goodness 😉). The other one was Old Navy. Aside from the Amercian flag tee shirts I wore on the Fourth of July in elementary school (don’t even try to act like you didn’t have one too), I haven’t done much shopping there. But the other day while I was next door, I saw something cute in the window and went in to check it out.
Not only did I walk out with this poncho and striped turtleneck, but I also left with this buffalo plaid scarf and this faux fur vest all for less than $75! This poncho was hands down my favorite find because of how lightweight it is; it’s literally perfect for California weather and layering. It also comes in charcoal gray, and right now you can get it 50% off with code ‘warm’!
Have you been pleasantly surprised by any stores lately? What are some of your favorite finds?
Oh those lovely America flag tees! The photos of myself in these still make me laugh every single time I see them. I agree that Old Navy has surprised me. You can really find some great pieces at great prices! Who doesn’t love a good deal! I really like the outfit. It’s super cute. Right up my alley.
Right?! So embarrassing. Haha! I was so pleasantly surprised by Old Navy! Thanks so much! xo
