Shorts with Summer Sweaters

With Fall just around the corner, I have been so eager to start shopping for more Fall pieces! I will share more of the things I have been grabbing soon, but for today I wanted show you my favorite way to transition some of these pieces from now until we get to cooler temps. This time of year, I typically limit buying things for Summer since it will be too cool to wear them soon. If buying Summer pieces, I stick to items I can layer under cardigans like this tank I featured HERE. But one of my favorite combos to wear right now is a cute sweater with shorts! That way I can start snagging the cute sweaters that are just coming out, and don’t have to wait to wear them.

I’m totally the same girl I was when I was 8, and I have to wear whatever new item I got the very next day. That’s exactly what happened when I got this super cute leopard sweater in the mail a couple weeks ago. I immediately threw it on with the denim shorts I was wearing, and thought it made the perfect combo to wear now. Cool enough for a Summer day, but you still are warm when it starts to cool off at night. In both of these items I sized up one size to fit me during pregnancy; I’m wearing a small in the sweater and a size 26 in the shorts.

These denim shorts are my all-time favorite pair and make the perfect item to create this “sweater with shorts” look. I actually own them in a size smaller, but quickly grew out of them after I became pregnant. Since we had quite a few months of Summer left, I decided to grab them in a size larger to wear them longer, and I am so glad I did.
