SIX Months

Today marks six months of Something Beautiful!  On July 29, 2015, I wrote my very first post [you can see it HERE], embarked on this journey, and I’ve never looked back.  I’ve had an absolute blast blogging up to this point, and can’t wait to see what the Lord has for me and this blog in the future!  So in honor of six months, I thought I would give you a little more insight into who I am, other than the girl behind the screen who shops for cute clothes 😉
1.  I’m married to my best friend.
Daniel and I met when I was 15 years old (that’s ten years ago, people!) on a cruise.  Bizarre?  Yes.  But we love it.  We’ve been married for 3 1/2 years (as of yesterday!).  One day, I will share our wedding here!  Fun fact: We have the same birthday (3 years apart!).
2.  I’m a mom…
Okay, maybe she isn’t human, but my puppy is definitely my child.  I obsess over her to the point that some may find it unhealthy [I don’t].  She is the cutest, and it’s not because I’m biased ;).
3.  My degree is in Business & Pre-Med.
Growing up, I wanted to be a doctor for as long as I can remember.  About halfway through college, I realized that I definitely did not want to anymore, but couldn’t let go of all the work I had put in to that degree.  I added on the business major, and also finished out the pre-med part.  Last year, I got my chance to use my science background, teaching high-school Chemistry to the coolest 16 year olds ever.
4.  I’m a creature of habit.
Specifically when it comes to food.  I could eat Chick Fil A e.v.e.r.y. s.i.n.g.l.e. d.a.y. [obviously I can’t because they’re closed on Sundays…but really, I’m Christian and don’t agree with it.  Does that really make you more Christian?  Maybe I’m just bitter…yeah, probably ;)].
5.  I’m Type-A, meticulous, anal, OCD…however you want to put it, I’m a perfectionist.
It’s my biggest strength & weakness.  I can’t even stand if the chicken in my chicken noodle soup isn’t shredded all the same size.  My mom says you all should see how I fold laundry.  Honestly, I don’t see it as over the top, I just can’t even stand things any other way.  This also means I tend to like things done my way/think my way is the best way, which definitely can get me into trouble…
6.  My favorite day is Friday.
Literally I can’t even express my love for Friday.  I would much rather it be Friday and have to work, than be a different day with no work.  Don’t ask me why; I have no idea.  Real talk: It’s so much of my favorite that I told Daniel to please make sure he proposed on a Friday.
7.  Numbers are my thing.
I guess this kind of goes along with being Type-A (at least the Type-A people I know), but I’m a numbers freak.  I was recommended for accounting in college, and sometimes still think it might be fun.  I love paperwork…weird?  I’m the only person I know who doesn’t use my contacts in my phone, and don’t even tell me your social security number one time, because I won’t ever forget it.
8.  My first name really is Daryl-Ann.
Not Daryl.  Ann isn’t my middle name.  And, no, I’m not from the South. [I get this all the time!]
9.  I’m a firm believer in the fact that there FOUR meals in a day.
Dessert is on my radar every night.  The hardest part of dieting for me isn’t eating healthy, it’s skipping dessert.  I have the worst time falling asleep without it 😉  Haha…pathetic, yes.
10.  I heart Netflix [just like everyone else ;)]
The Blacklist.  Scandal.  Gossip Girl.  Suits.  How to Get Away With Murder.  Parenthood.  I’m always looking for new suggestions…what are your favorites?!
11.  Diet Coke is my treat of choice.
It’s practically water: zero calories, zero carbs, no sugar.  It makes every day a better.  I don’t like coffee, but I don’t mind “grabbing coffee” with friends as long as I can stop and get a DC first.  I can tell you whether any Diet Coke came from a bottle, can, fountain…and even more, I can tell you what fast food restaurant.  Yes, I have a problem.

12.  My favorite Bible verse is Zephaniah 3:17
“For the Lord your God is living among you.  He is a mighty Savior.  He will take delight in you with gladness.  With his love, he will calm all your fears.  He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
There you have it!  Thank you all for reading and following along with me this past half-year!  Cheers to the next six months!

I've loved following along these past few months and we have a lot of similarities especially #2 and #5. I heart Netflix too and I think you definitely need to watch Friday Night Lights. I'm a Diet Pepsi addict. Pepsi was born in New Bern, NC which is about an hour from my hometown so I've grown up a Pepsi girl, but I like coffee too. I love Philippians 4:6 ("Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.) so much that I got it tattooed on my wrist.
