How to Style a Denim Miniskirt

Last Summer, a trend came back in style that I honestly never thought I would see again after middle school: the denim miniskirt. Back in sixth grade, I thought I was just as cool as could be in my Abercrombie denim miniskirt, and wore it with everything. However, I never wore it with Ugg boots, and am still proud of that to this day…haha! Needless to say, when I first saw denim miniskirts on retailers websites last year, I was more than reluctant to try the trend again myself. I finally caved after brainstorming on how I could make one “classy” but cute at the same time. (You can see how I styled it for the first time last year in this post!)

This year, I got a bit more adventurous and decided to try this zip-front denim miniskirt! I loved the large pockets, and thought the zipper was a super cute, but different touch that made it special. Since denim skirts have come back in style, brands have been doing super fun things with them. You can get a super plain and simple one like this, or try one with ruffles for a more feminine look. The next one on my wishlist is this embroidered black one!

As far as styling a denim miniskirt goes, my go-to combination for Spring is a light sweater, like this pom-pom one, and booties. When Summer comes around, you can wear it with a cute tank or ruffle top and wedges, or dress it down with just a tee and sneakers!
