Summer Skincare Routine

During the Summer months, I totally operate on a “less is more” mentality in almost every area including makeup and skincare.  However even though I want to save time, I still don’t want to skimp on my Summer skincare routine, because the older I get the more I realize just how important taking care of your skin is.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love the entire TULA skincare line.  I started using it about a year and a half ago, and really don’t use much else anymore.  That’s saying a lot because I am totally that person that loves a beauty product one month, and the next is searching for something new.

Recently I started using the new Three Step Balanced Skin Bundle when TULA sent me their new pH balancing toner.  The other two products, the Purifying Cleanser and Day & Night Cream, were things I was already using on a daily basis and love.

Step One: TULA Purifying Facial Cleanser

The first step in my new quick three-step routine is this cleanser.  Washing your face is probably something you already do, so this doesn’t add any more time to your current routine.  I love this cleanser because it is gentle and doesn’t dry out my already dry skin.  And it completely removes all of my makeup!  I used to use a makeup wipe before washing my face, but this cleanser has completely eliminated that step!  If you want to try one of the three products, I would highly recommend this one.

Step Two: Pro-Glycolic pH Resurfacing Gel

This was the new product I implemented into my routine, and it was sent to me at a time where my skin was breaking out really bad.  I was willing to try anything at that point, even though I typically shy away from toners because they are too drying for my skin.  After cleansing, I put a squirt of this onto a little cotton pad and rub a thin layer across my face.

This gel is an alcohol-free toner that uses probiotics and glycolic acid to balance the skin and restore it to it’s ideal pH.  And if none of that makes sense, I’ll tell you what it did for me: it completely balanced and cleared my skin, leaving it smoother and not dry!  I have not had a bad breakout in the last 2-3 months of using this, and I have even got my teenager brother to start using it!

Step Three: Hydrating Day & Night Cream

This moisturizer is also one of the original TULA products I started using, and one I still swear by.  Both Daniel and I use it twice a day and both of us have really sensitive dry skin.  It wears so nice under makeup, but is still hydrating enough for my dry skin most nights (if I’m going through a really dry season, I use this at night).  It is not thick or greasy and can be layered or worn alone.

Step Four: SUNSCREEN

Okay, okay, I know I said my Summer routine was only three steps, but I can’t leave out the most important step during the Summer.  I wear sunscreen every single day under my makeup.  I fear for wrinkles if I forget it!  It is such a simple step that helps with aging more than any anti-aging product on the market.  I would much rather prevent aging and wrinkles than try to fight and get rid of it.

I wear this sunscreen under my makeup and love how thin it is.  If you want to layer a sunscreen under your favorite foundation, my advice would be to find a “liquid” sunscreen versus a “lotion.”  One is watery and the other is thick.  If you prefer to have sunscreen ion your foundation, I recommend the it Cosmetics CC Cream!  It has an SPF 50 and has a much fuller coverage than most CC creams.

And I’m so excited because TULA is giving away a full-size Three Step Balanced Skin Bundle to a reader over on my Instagram today!  Be sure to follow along and enter to win HERE.  They’re also offering my readers 20% off + free shipping on any order right now, with code “DARYLANN” at checkout!
