Fall is hands-down my favorite season of the entire year! And I’m not going to lie, but it’s primarily due to the clothes 😉. Fall lip colors are also my favorite to wear, and I kind of wear some version of them year-round because I think they look best on my skin tone. So, it’s even better when they are seasonally appropriate! I’ve been getting lots of questions on my Instagram Story asking what lip colors I have been wearing, so today I am rounding up my top 5 Fall lip colors for you! Whether you’re a die-hard liquid lipstick fan or you’re just looking for something light to wear everyday, these Fall lip colors are perfect for any occasion.
MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor in “Burnt Spice”
This is my all-time favorite lip color, no matter the season! However, it’s even more fun to wear in the Fall because it is the perfect darker nude. I keep multiple of these in different purses and in my car because it is the color I have on 9 times out of 10 and the one I feel most comfortable in. Chances are if you’ve seen me wear a lipstick on my Instagram Story or messaged me to ask what lipstick I was wearing, it was this one!
As far as the formula goes, it is a true liquid lipstick in that it’s long lasting, doesn’t smudge, and is a dry, matte formula. However, I really like this formula because it is less “drying” on my lips and does not crack or form harsh lines on me at all. I always line my lips with this lip pencil by MAC in the shade “Whirl”, and it’s what I’m wearing with all the lip colors in this post!
Urban Decay VICE Lipstick in “Manic”
If you’re not into liquid lipsticks, this one is for you! I have loved the Urban Decay VICE lipstick formula for a long time. The line comes in many different forms (such as creams like this one, mattes, and sheers) and tons of colors! This one is the shade “Manic” and is a super creamy deep wine color. It would make the perfect option to wear all through the holidays if a bright red lip isn’t your thing. Because it is a cream formula and not a liquid lip, it doesn’t stay on quite as long and requires reapplication throughout the day.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Lolita”
This has been a best-seller for so long and for good reason! The color is the perfect brick red/brown that will flatter almost any skin tone. If you’ve never worn Kat Von D’s liquid lipsticks, you should definitely know that they live up to the “Everlasting” in their name! They literally last all day long. However, to achieve this, they are pretty drying. They are easy to apply and a fairly thin formula compared to other liquid lipsticks. Once you put this lipstick on, it isn’t smudging or going anywhere until you remove it at night! The only other downside is that it tends to show cracks because of how long-wearing it is. If you require all-day wear, this one is for you and the benefit will definitely outweigh the cons.
Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in “Allison”
I just picked up this color for the Fall season, and I LOVE it!!! It is not quite a brick red, but not quite a berry and could easily be worn everyday or for going out. The formula is pretty creamy for a matte liquid lipstick, and it takes about a minute to truly dry. However because of the creaminess, it tends not to crack which is a huge plus! It’s super easy to apply and dries completely so it doesn’t budge once it’s dry.
YSL Matte Lip Stain in “23”
I wanted to include more of a “stain” for you ladies who aren’t into wearing anything heavy on an everyday basis. I really liked this YSL stain because it was a matte, which I feel like is super hard to find in a stain formula. The rose/mauve color is super Fall-appropriate and definitely can be worn for any occasion. As far as application goes, it’s a super thin, lightweight formula that takes a bit of time to fully dry (about 1-2 minutes). Once it is dry, it is a bit sheer like a true stain would be, but not glossy or shiny and really lives up to the matte description. Oh, and it smells like heaven!!!! If you’re in the market for a low maintenance look, this one is for you!
