First off, let me say that these date night ideas are coming from someone who doesn’t really like to do much for “dates.” I am far less of the romantic type, and totally prefer the idea of throwing on a hoodie and heading out to one of our local favorite restaurants, where I order the same thing every single time. Last year for Valentine’s Day, I had one request: Chick-Fil-A. Unfortunately, Valentine’s is on a Sunday this year, otherwise I would request the same thing all over again! But, when we do go out somewhere nice [translation: when Daniel convinces me that it will be fun ;)] I totally love it! So, for those of you that are heading out to a super fun restaurant I have some outfit inspo for you below! But, if you’re still looking for something fun to do or just want something a little more low-key this year, try out one of these ideas with your man (or your girlfriends)!
1. Build-Your-Own Waffle Bar
This doubles as an excuse to use that waffle maker you got as a wedding gift and have only used twice […
guilty. It’s just so hard to clean!]
Here is the one we have! Break out all the toppings: fresh fruit, Nutella, whipped cream, chocolate chips, etc. Think: Sundae Bar! You can totally do this after you go out for dinner, or make dinner at your place, as a fun dessert. Or, since Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year, this idea would totally work for breakfast, too! This would be an awesome idea if you have kids; bring them in on all the fun!
2. Make your living room into a giant fort!
Bring down all the pillows and sheets and build a huge fort right in your living room! Pick out a new movie and get cozy in your jammies (
these are too cute!). Pop some popcorn & cuddle [you could even camp out all night]! Tip: If you want the best homemade popcorn ever, get the organic kernels from Trader Joe’s, and pick up
this popcorn maker from Target! Use coconut oil as it heats up, and top with butter and salt…YUM! And if you’re looking for a fun movie suggestion,
this one is our all-time favorite…we watched it on our first date!
3. Steak Dinner for Two
I usually get my fair share of cooking during the week [and even if it’s twice a week, to me that is enough to be considered “fair share” ;)], but there’s something about buying nice steaks from the store, and cooking a gourmet meal together. Bust out your aprons! Make some baked potatoes and broccolini to go with them! And if you’re wondering what broccolini is, it tastes exactly the same as broccoli but feels way more fancy ;). Put a bunch of candles on the table and have a candlelit dinner, just the two of you! End the night playing card games…mine and Daniel’s favorite thing to do after dinner.
Here’s a list of 50+ card games for two people!
If you are off to a super fun date night this weekend [which definitely includes if it’s with your girlfriends!], how cute is this outfit!
The embroidered rose collar on that blouse totally gets me! You could definitely pair it with some work pants and a blazer for the office afterward, and it’s only $22.90…steal. The pink midi skirt would be adorable for a Spring wedding [can’t believe wedding season is almost here!]. And I am just obsessed with all those blush accessories…actually, I’m obsessed with anything and everything blush 😉
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Do you have any special plans? Let me know in the comments! xoxo

Valentine’s Day date night ideas are awesome! These outfit are equally inspirational. Thanks a lot for this interesting post. Well, our Valentine’s party was quite amazing. My fiancé hosted a dance party to celebrate the day and had booked an event venue NYC. It was a nice surprise for me.
