Home Office Reveal

[ann]Shelving Unit: Elfa | Desk: Wayfair | Chair: Wayfair | Wall Paper: Anthropologie [/ann]

I am so excited to finally reveal my home office in our new house today!!!  When we looked at this house, one of the things we loved about it was how much room I would have for office space, and it has been SO nice now that I have my assistant working with me every day.  There were things from my last office space that I knew I wanted to replicate in this office, but I also had fun getting to design something completely new.  I went a little more adventurous with this space than my last, and I am so glad that I did!

The one thing I was 100% confident I wanted was another Elfa system.  I’m sure you guys remember the smaller system I had in my old office (you can see it HERE) but as my brand grew, it just wasn’t big enough anymore. It was definitely the one thing in my house I got the most questions about because of how pretty and functional it was.  The new renters asked that we leave it behind for them, so I got to start from scratch with this space and build something that fit perfectly and met all of my new needs as far as my office was concerned.

The Elfa system is completely customizable to your space and dimensions, so once we moved and had the measurements, my assistant, Lyssa, went to The Container Store to design the space with them.  They are super helpful and really can suggest the best options and layout based on your organization needs.  My last unit had only shelving and hanging space, and now with more space, we knew we wanted more of each as well as to add drawer space that we didn’t have.

Two things I love about this space that we didn’t have in my last office are the mesh drawers with dividers that hold so many different products and the standard covers!  It sounds so funny, but the standard covers are the white pieces that cover the vertical tracks on the wall.  I have no idea why I didn’t use them in my previous Elfa system, but they make ALL the difference when it comes to having it look clean, built in, and professional.  I also feel like the white décor shelves make a huge difference in the overall look of the system!

Now that we have this space in my office, I am tempted to put one in the baby’s closet as well as a system in the garage!  They make shelves, drawers, and accessories appropriate for pretty much any space you can think of. And I am so excited to share this with you now, because  Elfa is on sale 25% through October 14, plus installation is another 25% off! You can design a custom unit for your space HERE!

The other big thing I decided to do in this space was wallpaper!  This is what I meant by going a bit outside of my comfort zone.  I am such a neutrals girl at heart and really stay away from patterns and prints, but this mural literally stopped me in my tracks while I was on the Anthropologie website browsing one day.   I measured the wall and it fit perfectly, so I decided to try it, and I am so glad that I did.  It adds so much character to the space.

As far as a desk goes, I wanted something super simple and clean to go with the white Elfa system, but not clash or be “too much” against the wallpaper.  I found this writing desk for such a great buy, and I love it!  It has only one drawer where I store desk supplies like pens, highlighters, paper clips, etc.  I am super picky and never like the layout got these little organizers, so I grabbed these individual acrylic organizers from The Container Store. They are perfect if you want to create an organization system completely customized to your needs and drawer size.

Because I only have the one desk drawer and I needed more storage for filing, I grabbed this filing cabinet from The Container Store as well.  In my last office I had a really inexpensive one that was always breaking and driving me nuts, so I decided to splurge a bit on this one.  I am so glad I did because it is so nice!  So funny the things that make you happy and really make you feel like an “adult” …haha!

And since I am a lover of everything organized, I grabbed this sunglasses case that holds every pair I own and these Stackers jewelry organizers.  I have the deep one and the one with a lid and am thinking I may need a third.  You can keep them separate or stack them to create your own custom jewelry box.

Okay, well I think that’s everything!  I was so excited to share it with you and I really hope you love it as much as I do!  Stay tuned because I am soon going to be adding a rug and chandelier to this space to finish it off…I just haven’t found the perfect ones just yet!
