New-to-Me Beauty

Hey friends!  It’s been a while since I have shared something “beauty” related so today I thought I would share some new beauty items I have been trying out lately.  None of these are “new” items but they’re all new to me within the last month or so!  I am totally that girl that can be sucked into buying 15 new products at Sephora so I’m constantly trying out new beauty products.  These four are ones i have implemented into my routine in the last little bit and I am loving!  (If you’re curious to see my everyday makeup routine, check out this post!).

Anastasia Eyeshadow Singles (& Empty Palette)

I was so excited when I saw that Anastasia makes single eyeshadows!  I have been using their Modern Renaissance palette daily for so long, but I use the same four colors and have to replace the palette.  (All of the colors are great, but those four are my favorite!).  After repurchasing the palette three times, I finally saw these single shadows.  They are 4 for $32 and they magnetize to this empty palette that only costs $1!!  Then you only have to replace the colors that you run out of and don’t have to buy a whole new palette!  I use the colors Vermeer, Legend, Burnt Orange Matte, and Warm Taupe (swatched from left to right above).  In the widget below I linked the two brushes I use to apply them!

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

This is an oil-free primer that has SPF 15 which is perfect for Summer!  It literally feels weightless on your skin, absorbs quickly, and is not slippery at all.  I have been loving how it reduces the appearance of pores and protects me from the sun.  My foundation does not have sunscreen in it, so I typically have to wear a sunscreen underneath.  I love that I can skip this step now, especially with the warm Summer months coming!  And just a tip: whenever you are looking for something with a sunscreen, make sure that it has “Zinc oxide” as an active ingredient.  It protects way better than without it (per my dermatologist 😉).  This primer does have it, which is super hard to find!

La Mer Soft Cream Moisturizer

You guys, this is ridiculously priced, but for good reason.  Notice I didn’t say overpriced…which is totally what I have always thought about La Mer products.  As I get into my upper 20’s, skincare is increasingly more important to me.  I have been experimenting with different treatments and products and investing in my skin more than ever before.  I decided to give this moisturizer a try last month after hearing only good things and seeing the amazing reviews.  Needless to say, I am hooked (and Daniel is too, unfortunately for our wallets haha!).  It is lightweight and makes your skin feel sooo good.  I can’t even describe it.  I always shop at Nordstrom when purchasing investment items like this that I am unsure about.  If I don’t feel it’s worth the money or notice a difference, they gladly accept my return.  You have to treat yourself and try this one!!!

Kate Sommerville Exfolikate Extensive Exfoliating Treatment

I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that this is the first exfoliator I’ve purchased.  But when I was looking to improve my skincare routine, the girl at Nordstrom recommended I try this one.  It is dual-action which means it’s both a chemical and physical exfoliator.  It contains pumpkin, papaya, and pineapple enzymes to exfoliate dead skin cells and gives you a brighter complexion.  I currently use this twice a week.  The statistics say that after just 4 weeks, 100% of women reported significant improvement of skin texture, pores, crow’s feet, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Sign me up!  Can’t wait to report back after I’ve used this for a bit longer.

What new beauty products have you tried lately?  Which ones do you swear by that I need to try next?
