What to Wear to a Bridal Shower

With wedding season coming up on us, I’m sure right now your weekends are packed with bridal showers (or baby showers…something’s in the air!).  When I’m looking for a dress for a shower, I always look for something I can easily wear to another event.  My favorite spot to find dresses is always Anthropologie.  Their styles are always romantic and super unique, so you can pretty much guarantee you won’t be wearing the same thing as someone else.
This lavender lace dress caught my eye while we were shopping a few weekends ago while on a trip to Scottsdale, and knew it had to come back to California with me.  My friend Kristen who I was shopping with said, “That dress is so Daryl-Ann,” and I couldn’t agree more!  Super feminine and unique!  I get so many compliments each time I wear it.
It would be the perfect dress for any shower you have to attend and easily fits a daytime or nighttime event!  Whenever I’m looking for a dress to attend a shower, I look for a few things:
1.  Something Feminine
Showers are usually all-women events, and so it’s the perfect excuse to rock girly dress!  Lace, pastels, and chiffon are my go-to’s to achieve an ultra feminine look.  I love the girly details of this dress!
2.  A Flowy Silhouette
While you may be totally comfortable in a super fitted silhouette for a night out with friends, body cons are best reserved for just that.  I try to stay away from tight fitting dresses for showers because accentuating yourself isn’t always best done in front of the bride’s grandma 😉
3.  Something Not White
As with any wedding event, white is reserved for the bride, even if she isn’t planning on wearing it.  I try to steer clear of any shade or version of white, along with dresses that are primarily a white shade.  This is my rule of thumb to keep from “stepping on anyone’s toes” or feeling uncomfortable with my outfit choice.
I’ve linked a bunch of really pretty options in the scrolling tool below!  If you have a bunch of wedding events coming up, be sure to check out some options for bachelorette parties HERE.
